Around 1000 B.C., Persians have invented an ancient air conditioning
system, which uses wind poles installed on roofs to cool people indoors
by blowing natural wind through cool water outside.
In the 19th century, Michael Faraday, a British scientist and inventor,
discovered that compressed and liquefied gases could freeze air. This
phenomenon occurred when liquefied ammonia vaporized, and the idea
remained theoretical.

In 1842, John Gorrie, a Florida doctor, built a new compressed building
with central air conditioning. Alfred Wolff, an engineer in Hoboken, New
Jersey, helped design the new air conditioning system and relocated
technology from textile mills to commercial buildings. He was considered
one of the pioneers in making the working environment coole
